FAQ

The sooner, the better! Assuming you already have a valid Australian passport (with at least 6 months' validity after your scheduled return to Australia), it is advisable to book at least 10 weeks prior to the program start date, to ensure sufficient time to complete any necessary processes or paperwork (e.g. obtaining a visa if required, organising travel insurance, etc.) and to avoid costly last-minute airfares.

Provided your visa conditions/validity allow it, and that your language school and accommodation have availability, it may be possible to extend your program once overseas. Please contact WEP at least 3 weeks prior to the scheduled end of your program to discuss any extension opportunities.

On average, please make sure you have access to at least AUD $200-350 per week. The amount you will spend largely depends on the program inclusions you have selected (e.g. meals) and on factors such as: addional activities/excursions you may choose to do, shopping for clothes/toiletries/souvenirs, phone calls and data, local transport, social outings, etc.

Depending on the school, most courses are offered from beginner level to advanced. In some schools, beginner courses start each week; in others, they may start on specific dates throughout the year. Please check the relevant website page and don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions!

Yes, your school will issue a certificate indicating the level of language proficiency you have reached, provided you have attended at least 85% of the classes.

If your goal is to make significant progress, the best solution is to choose an intensive course (28-30 hours of lessons per week). If you prefer to combine study with pleasure (or work, if you intend to obtain a valid work visa for your host country), opt for a standard course (15-25 hours of lessons per week).

Most of our schools offer programs starting at any time throughout the year, for a minimum of 2 weeks, up to 12, 16, or 52 weeks depending on the destination and on your initial language level. To make significant progress in the language, we recommend a minimum of 4 weeks. Participating in a shorter language program is still advantageous, especially if you're not starting as an absolute beginner - you will boost your fluency and oral comprehension, expand your vocabulary thanks to everyday real-life situations, and gain insight into the culture.

All schools offer a regular program of activities, trips and excursions. These are all optional, and offered either for free or at cost price (i.e. the school yields no profit). Each week, the school coordinator will provide students with a calendar of activities/events.
