Students who wish to continue with tertiary education can choose between attending a public or private university or a non-university institution, such as teacher training colleges, technical training institutes, art schools... Non-university studies normally offer pregrado courses, leading to technical or professional qualifications, while universities typically offer grado (three-year bachelor degree) or postgrado (master, Phd, specialist studies, etc.) programs.
